Inspiring and celebrating plus size women and teens online since October 1998, the name was inspired by The Birth of Venus painting by Botticelli, where the beautiful goddess Venus emerged from the sea on a half-shell as a fully-grown woman with gracious curves. The Goddess stands as a symbol for love and beauty and with the addition of the word 'diva' to our name, (taken from the Latin word for Goddess) our modern adaptation redefines the plus size woman as passionate, beautiful, talented, inspirational and with just enough sass for people to stand up and take notice.

Renamed Daily Venus Diva in October 2009 to better reflect our content model, Stephanie Penn-Danforth, a Detroit, MI native and Editor-In-Chief of DailyVenusDiva.com, is the visionary bringing a fresh new plus-size perspective to our readers.
